Julia S. "Julie" Rowse of Burwell passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at CHI St. Francis Health Center in Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of 63.

Julia was born March 23, 1962, at Offutt Airforce Base, Nebraska to Richard M. and Elizabeth J. (Miles) Burger. She spent her childhood at Carter Lake, Iowa and Burwell and Ericson, Nebraska, receiving her education at Burwell Public School and Wheeler Central School.

Julie married Pat Penne on April 29, 1978, the couple resided in Lexington. To this union, a daughter, Beverly was born.

Julie returned to Burwell in 1980 and worked at Blueberry Hill.  Jullie married Craig D. Rowse on October 23, 1981, in Burwell, Nebraska. The couple had two children, Ricky and Amber.

Julie was employed at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord and Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell. She worked in Social Services and as the Activity Director at the nursing homes. She was most recently employed at Subconn of Burwell.

Julie was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching TV and videos on her phone.

Survivors include her husband, Craig Rowse of Burwell; a daughter Beverly (David) Hines of Spalding; a son, Ricky Rowse (Jordan) of Kearny; sister, Rosie (Brian) Bergt of Amherst; half-sister, Amy (Chad) Raynor of South Carolina; stepsister, Stacy (Mark) Triner of Surprise, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Amber Rowse; stepfather, Buck Kofoed; and her previous husband, Pat Penne.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burwell. Father Paul Colling will officiate.
