Patricia Ann Jeffres of Burwell, Nebraska passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at her home at the age of 63.

Patricia Ann was born July 11, 1963, at Atkinson, Nebraska to Lanny Robert and Ardith Marie (Guy) Ballagh. She spent her early years in Rock County before moving to Sargent at the age of 6 and began her early education at Sargent Elementary School. In 1971, she settled in Garfield County, making that her forever home.

Following graduation from Burwell High School in 1981, Patty moved to Norfolk to attend Northeast State Technical Community College. On April 8, 1983, Patty and Stephen P. “Steve” Jeffres were married at Burwell, Nebraska. After spending a couple of months in Colorado, the couple returned to Burwell and welcomed their two daughters to the world, Mandy in 1985 and Alicia in 1989.

Together, Patty and Steve managed the Northside Bar & Grill which they later purchased and enjoyed many years of running the bar. In 1995, Patty became a paraeducator at Burwell Elementary School where she enjoyed working with the students until 2019, when she transitioned into a full-time Grandma.

Patty enjoyed reading and was an avid Husker Football and Volleyball fan. It was family time that meant the most to her; traveling to visit and spoil the grandkids in Colorado and family road trips. She was especially fond of her dogs.

Survivors include her two daughters and their families, Mandy and Ian Broden and granddaughters, Piper, Hanna and Livi of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Alicia and Michael Sharp and granddaughter, Claudia of Grass Valley, California; her mother, Ardith Ballagh of Burwell; a brother, Brian Ballagh of Ord and a sister, Tam Ballagh of Evansville, Wyoming.

She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Steve; and grandparents, aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Calamus Trinty Methodist Church in Burwell, Nebraska. Pastor Stephen Williams will officiate. In honor of Patty’s wishes, please wear Husker attire to the service. 

Memorials are suggested to the Burwell Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.
